Regression Into Relations
[Most of] The pieces I created for Regression Into Relations, a self-curated group show at the Madame of the Arts space in Minneapolis.
Show statement:
Working with the various fabrics of space and form, light and sound. The lines that connect us through history and the future intertwine to the present ladders of social dynamic. Culturally and scientifically regressing into one another to form a chaotic and anonymous whole. Space is a medium considered through installation, through a mining of data, a certain awareness in the viewer and the geometry of response, causality, interaction and refraction all contribute to a structured narrative of reality.
Like in the yarn paintings I showed at the Science Museum, I worked with the Huichol aesthetic and craft. Expanding on this, I explored the ideas of containment and passage.
